Establishing the Position of the Chief Strategy Officer

The USTC Alumni Foundation (USTC AF) has been a volunteer-run organization since its inception, and the personnel changes too frequently. The Board of Directors (the Board) has determined the frequent personnel change is limiting the growth potential of the AF, and its capability to best fulfills its charter of promoting the interest of USTC. As such, the Board decides to establish a Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) position, in the hope to bring us the benefit of medium- and long-term strategic planning, and effective leadership.

The USTC Alumni Foundation (USTC AF) board of directors hereby appoints Mr. ZHAO, HAN (USTC class 0700), as the Chief Strategy Officer, effective immediately.

The USTCAF is an All Volunteer Organization (AVO), and has no paid staff. This is how we keep our operating cost low (below 1%), and use almost all of our donations in our various programs. If you like what we do, and have a little bit of time and effort to spare, we could really use your help as a volunteer!

Membership Agreement

The following membership agreement was adopted by the board by unanimous consent at the board meeting held on Nov 3, 2023.





This Membership Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by University of Science and Technology of 
China Alumni Foundation (USTCAF, or “ORGANIZATION”) and each of its members (“MEMBER”), and comes 
into effect as of the date the MEMBER’s membership takes effect. 

Member Benefits

As of part of membership, the MEMBER will receive the following benefits:

1.	Participate in member meetings to elect board directors, as well as to submit formal proposals to the ORGANIZATION.
2.	Receive communications from the ORGANIZATION with information on programs, progress, and other matters.
3.	Submit suggestions for the improvement of the ORGANIZATION.
4.	Participate in selected programs of the ORGANIZATION.

Membership Dues

The annual dues for membership is $10, or one can become a member by donating $20 or more.


The Member agrees that they will not:

1.	Reproduce or disseminate any confidential information received from the ORGANIZATION, such as identities 
and application materials from program applicants and participants.
2.	Share with non-MEMBERS or in any public setting, inappropriate, inaccurate, disparaging, or offensive 
information or opinion about the ORGANIZATION.


The Member will not hold the Organization liable for any tangible or intangible damage that might happen to them 
while participating in the membership.

The Member agrees that the Organization cannot guarantee any results from their membership. Any negative or 
positive results that might occur during the membership are the result of the Member’s own personal choices. 


The Organization will not share any contact or personal information about the Member with other members, 
non-members or any third parties. 

Membership Termination

The Organization has a right to terminate the Member’s membership if any of the terms and the conditions of 
this Agreement are violated. The Member can terminate their membership at any point and for any reason.

By submitting a donation pledge form to the ORGANIZATION, or taking any other action which clearly states 
the requirement of agreeing to this Agreement, MEMBERs confirms that they have read, understood and agree 
to the terms and conditions outlined in this Agreement.

[Passed] Bylaws Change Proposal - Summer 2011

The Following proposal has been passed by the governing board on August 5 and will become effective on September 25, 2011.  A formal announcement and the official document of the new bylaws will be released soon.
