Dear USTCAF members,
One of USTCAF’s founding missions is to promote the excellence of the USTC community. There is an opportunity to have an even bigger community impact by encouraging and recognizing extraordinary achievements of the next generation of USTC alumni. We have shared this initiative with USTCAF members and have received positive feedback. K2S scholarship is created to recognize the highest accomplishment in academics and extracurricular activities, as well as most impactful participation in community services by our children. K2S stands for both “Ke’er’dai scholarship” and the highly selective award process (K2 is the toughest mountain to conquer).
We will review applications and select the winners every year via a K2S Award committee that comprises highly accomplished USTC alumni. Award winners will be presented in a global award ceremony with prestigious certificates and financial incentives.
To fund this new USTCAF project, we have created a new sub-fund, K2S, and are looking to reach a fundraising target of $100K.
We rely on your continuous support of USTCAF and generous donations to kick start this project. You can find the K2S eligibility and application requirements below.
Award Eligibility
- a) The student applicant must be in grade 9-12 or equivalent grade at the time of application.
- b) At least one parent was/is affiliated with the USTC
- c) The student should be recommended by at least one USTCAF member
Application materials
- A personal statement of up to 500 words
- A copy of most recent/high school transcript and SAT report if available
- One recommendation letter
- A brief summary of honors and awards received, offices of student organizations held, extracurricular activities, community services involved, volunteer work experiences, etc.
Award Committee
- 1-2 USTCAF board member(s) to serve as the chair.
- Specially appointed USTC alumni or external academics/industry experts as reviewers, who will carefully review all applications and select the finalists and award winners
